Left Behind, but Not Forgotten

This series is a reflection on memory, loss, and the quiet endurance of places time has weathered. When I was a boy, my family had a small camp where we spent countless days together. Years later, we had to let it go — and eventually, a hurricane erased what remained, leaving only the pilings standing in the water. Through these paintings, I wanted to honor those old camps and coastal structures that were once full of life. Though they may now stand empty, they still hold the echoes of laughter, work, and belonging. Left Behind but Not Forgotten is a reminder that even when the walls fall, the memories remain — not just in the beams, but in the hearts who built them.
