Wind Blows Through the Trees
Commissioned as a gift for the client’s father in honor of the 40 years he spent flying. “Wind Blows Through the Trees” reflects a lifetime of dedication, craftsmanship, and shared passion. The three aircraft — the Christen Eagle II, Beechcraft Bonanza, and Socata TBM 700 — each represent a chapter in his father’s story as a pilot, builder, and mentor.
The mountain landscape connects these planes through time and experience. Its layered peaks and muted tones mirror both the challenges and calm found in a life spent mastering flight. The textured surface and balanced colors evoke the wear and reward that come with persistence, while the planes’ varied perspectives — one climbing, one level, one gliding — symbolize growth and the passage of time.
At its core, this painting is about legacy — how a father’s influence continues to move forward long after the work is done. Like wind through the trees, his presence remains — steady, unseen, and deeply felt.
